We are excited to announce that our team will participate in the XIII International Conference on Economy, Business & Society in a Digitalized Environment. This event, hosted by the Faculty of Economics in Prilep, builds on a tradition of twelve successful international conferences held over the past two decades. It brings together academics, researchers, managers, policymakers, practitioners, and students to discuss both the technical and non-technical aspects of digital transformation.

The conference will examine how digitalization is reshaping economies, businesses, and societies globally. With current economic, environmental, sociological, and health challenges, there is significant pressure on governments, organizations, and enterprises to adapt quickly. The conference will explore how digital technologies and ICT solutions can enhance individual skills, personal capabilities, and organizational capacities, thereby fostering economic competitiveness and unlocking human potential.

A key focus will be on the intersection of technological innovation, globalization, and environmental sustainability, particularly in response to pressing global issues like climate change and pandemics. As digitalization continues to influence all aspects of modern life, the conference offers a platform to discuss how digital technologies can drive societal, cultural, economic, and political transformations, supporting resilience and competitiveness in both SMEs and larger enterprises.

We are proud to present the following research:

  • Konstantinia Nikolaidou: “From Global Goals to Local Impact: Creating a Path for Just Energy Transitions Through SDGs’ Localization,” which explores how localizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can support just energy transitions.
  • Fenia Pliatsika: “Exploring Deliberative Democracy Models in Just Energy Transitions,” which examines how models of deliberative democracy can achieve fair energy transitions.
  • Lefteris Topaloglou & Despoina Kanteler: “Technology, Policy, and Investments in the Energy Trilemma Context: The Role of a Just Energy Transition Observatory Hub,” which discusses the role of an observatory hub in facilitating just energy transitions.
  • Yiannis Karagiannis: “Can We Measure How Fair is a Just Energy Transition?” which aims to develop frameworks to assess the fairness of energy transitions.
  • Despoina Kanteler: “Optimizing Investment Utilization in Energy Transition Regions via Decision-Making Tools,” which explores decision-making tools to optimize investments in regions undergoing energy transitions.

All accepted papers will receive a DOI and be published in the conference proceedings with an ISSN number. Selected papers may also be published in the “South-East European Review of Business and Economics (SERBE),” indexed in EBSCO and CROSSREF.

We look forward to engaging with experts and practitioners, sharing our findings, and contributing to the discussion on digitalization’s impact on society, economy, and business.
